My beautiful 5 year old (I call her Big V in the blog world) is starting kindergarten in less than 2 weeks. This is the first time she will be at a school, away from home, and let me tell you– this mama is freaking out!
There is so much planning to do when it comes to “back to school” time. Shopping lists, school supplies, new clothing, and so on. In shopping for big V’s school attire this year, I have noticed a lot of stripes, polka dots and frilly 80’s-style skirts.
This skirt is from Old Navy. Doesn’t it bring you back to the days of crimped hair and leg warmers? Sigh…so cute!
This totally reminds me of when I was young, and seeing this style coming back full-circle has me SO excited. I absolutely adore the late 80’s-early 90’s with all the bright neon colors and funky styles.
Unfortunately, the school Big V will be attending this fall has a uniform dress code, so she won’t be sporting any super-cute striped tops or polka-dot skirts to school… DRAT!
Fortunately, I did find a some really GREAT deals on uniform pieces at Old Navy and a super cute pair of polka dot shoes that I would love Big V to rock the first day of school. Even though she can’t wear the in-style clothes that this season offers, she can wear a pair of cool shoes to help show her individuality.
Here’s what I have in mind that she will wearing the first day of school, thanks to Old Navy!
I love the polka dot kicks that they offer. They are awesome and my daughter will love wearing them to school!
The uniform pieces I purchased from Old Navy (shown above) this week were $10 and less per piece. And since I spent over $25, I got $10 Old Navy cash to use the next time I come back. What a steal!
Since we are on a tight budget, I need all the deals I can get and I am thankful that Old Navy has them to offer for Back-to-School season since there is a lot to get for the school year. My pocketbook and I are very happy about that..woohoo!
Happy Back-to-School season, everyone!
