Being a mother of 2 young kiddos can make crafting/sewing time very limited– especially during the day. That being said, the only thing really left for me to do is nighttime sewing while the kiddos are fast asleep. With my crafting time being mainly at night, it can be really hard to do projects because the light in my craft room is terrible! I really need a bright headlight or something to solve this issue!
So, finally getting fed up with my current awful night light situation, I shopped my local Wal Mart to find a solution. My goal was to find a light that was compact yet powerful and would allow me to work 100% hands-free. You can check out my shopping experience on Google Plus.
As always, Wal Mart came through! , I found a big assortment of Energizer Headlights. It’s like Energizer made these just for me! I can just stick it on my head, turn it on, and wah-lah– instant, bright light!I purchased the Energizer LED Headlight for my daughter since she loves to read in her bed every night. This would be perfect for her since she needs her hands free to hold her books and turn the pages. For me, I purchased the Energizer Brilliant Beam Headlight. I love how it says it gives off 250 feet of light. This will give me more than enough light to do my sewing!
I also picked up a pack of Energizer AAA batteries. You can never have enough batteries! Here we are sporting our Energizer Headlights. I love how the strap adjusts to fit any size head. The strap itself is super soft and comfy. That’s great for long-term craft projects! I also love how you can manually adjust the lamp to have it direct the light straight ahead or pointed downward. Having the ability for it to point down is a must when it comes to sewing since you’re not always looking straight ahead.
One of the best things about my Energizer Headlight is that you can switch the lights from a spotlight to a flooding light. The floodlight gives my crafting workspace more lighting coverage. That is essential when having to work on projects at night or with low room light. Here is a comparison of the light given off with and without the Energizer Headlight. Without the headlight, all I get is an orange-y glow from the room light. Yuck! The light given off with the headlight is so much brighter, more crisp and super clear. It practically cuts right through the orange-y room light. Love it!Here’s my daughter in bed, with her Energizer headlight, reading a book. She loves her fancy hands-free “book” light! And if you were wondering what project I made using my Energizer Headlight for the first time, here it is: burp cloths! Aren’t they cute?! Making these at night with my new headlight was a breeze. Be on the lookout for a tutorial on the blog real soon!
