Growing up, it was SO HARD to wait until Christmas Day to open presents, so my parents started a tradition and let us open a little something extra Christmas Eve night to keep us occupied until Christmas morning. I am pretty sure we drove our parents batty and that’s why they started this tradition, but it stuck and we loved it. Now that I have kiddos of my own, I really wanted to carry this tradition on– and I have– despite my husband’s grumblings about waiting (I think he’s finally getting used to the idea though) :). This year, I went over to Walgreens to get the girls their “little something extra” Christmas Eve gifts. I checked out their Happy & Healthy Holiday Guide before heading out and they seemed to have a lot of cool stuff that the girls would love that I could put together, so off I went! My oldest loves Hello Kitty and when I saw all the Hello Kitty items in the Holiday Guide, I knew I would find something that would suit her well. She’s been asking me for “makeup,” so when I saw the Hello Kitty lip shine, I knew it would be a perfect Christmas Eve gift for her. I also found a few other Hello Kitty things that she would love, like this Hello Kitty Charmlite. She loves clipping toys to her backpack to show her friends, so I knew she would be excited to have this too!My youngest loves to splish and splash in the bath tub and she has technically never received any bath gifts of her own, so I wanted to give her something fun that she would love to play with. The inspiration for that came from seeing the Bubble Guppies bath dolls in the Walgreens Holiday Guide, so I was able to base her Christmas Eve gifts around that!Of course, no Christmas Eve gift is complete without a snack! I found these Good and Delish bite sized snacks to stick in with their toys. Walgreens is definitely a great place to get gifts for people specific to who they are and what they like. I had no problems finding gifts (and snacks) the girls would love and enjoy for their age. They also happened to have a great deal on their toys as well, which is always a plus for a frugal momma like myself! The Walgreens Happy & Healthy Gift Guide is also super helpful when coming up with ideas. I was able to get a themed gift idea because of what the guide had inside. It’s always nice to have a little help when coming up with ideas!
