This year my husband has really been interested in football. I mean, waaaay more that normal. I would say he’s almost on the verge of becoming a football junky, which is an utter and complete surprise to me! Each and every weekend this season, our TV has been tuned to what ever channel has whatever game he’s interested in at the time. And this past weekend was no exception! When I asked him what games were playing this weekend, he promptly told me how many games, who was playing and what days and times. I was impressed. So, I decided to celebrate his new-found love obsession of football with none other than some DiGiorno Pizzas from Walmart and a lovely green punch that reminds me of the color of astro turf. I am not even kidding. I had to make it just for that. Ha ha!The cool thing about it being close watching the Big Game, DiGiorno Pizzas are on serious roll-back at Walmart. I got 2 delicious Self-Rising Crust Pizzas for $4.50 each! Now, you can’t beat that if you tried.
I picked up a DiGiorno Three Meat Original Rising crust (my favorite) and a Supreme Original Rising Crust (hubby’s favorite) for our football watching fun at Walmart, along with the ingredients to my delicious astro turf green game time punch. I was excited to do something special for my husband, especially since he’s been working hard lately. He deserves a little break, don’t ya think? Here he is watching the first game of the day with my youngest daughter. They both look absolutely glued to the TV. I guess you can clearly see that one of the players of that particular game got injured. Hope he’s OK! We decided to hold off on our DiGiorno Pizza & Punch party until the 2nd game which was later that evening. I just had to highlight how dedicated this man has become to watching football this year!Once evening rolled around and the second game came on, I popped our DiGiorno Pizzas in the oven and threw together the green punch I so lovingly call Game Time Punch. Easy peasy! Here’s my hubby enjoying his slice of DiGiorno Supreme Pizza and Punch while intently watching what game was on the screen. I really think he enjoyed the relaxation of a night at home, kicked up in front of the tube, watching a little football with his family and eating an easy meal while watching the game. What a fun, easy evening! Here of course is a closer look of the Green Game Time Punch. It really was a refreshing compliment to the DiGiorno Pizza. Enjoy the recipe below!
- 2 packets Lime Kool Aid
- 2 cups Sugar
- 4 cups Water
- 48 ounces Pineapple Juice
- 1 quart (1 Liter) Ginger Ale
- Pour Kool Aid, sugar and water into one large container and allow Kool Aid and Sugar to dissolve completely by stirring.
- Slowly add pineapple juice and ginger ale, stirring as you go.
- Once completely incorporated, pour over ice.
What things do you like to do or serve while watching your favorite sport to make sure you’re not missing out? I think having something easy on hand to grab eat while watching the game makes a huge difference. That way you’re not missing out on important game high lights. DiGiorno definitely helped us accomplish that!
