I love a good party, don’t you? I love getting friends and family together over lots of food and hang out and play games. That, my friends, is my idea of having a good time! I also like to be crafty, so any chance I get to put crafty-ness and parties together, I am game!
So what do you think about this DIY Chips & Dip Server? Pretty fancy, huh? Can you believe I made this? Would you believe me if I told you it was easy to do? This is probably the easiest and most fun project I do. I did this for family back over Christmas, but I just had to make some more because they are so neat! I would love to show you how to do it, so keep on scrolling!
These are the following supplies you’ll need. A bowl (glass or plastic– mine’s glass), a plate (glass or plastic), a candlestick (I found mine at the Dollar Tree, and E6000 (make sure you get clear and not white like I did. duh!)
Be sure to take off all the stickers of your dishes and put them through the dishwasher, giving them a good wash. I like to use the Finish Powerball Tablets because they keep my dishes always looking clean and shiny!
You can find an assortment of Finish dishwasher cleaning items at Walmart. I am particularly fond of the Powerball tablets and have been using them forever! Finish is currently on Rollback at Walmart, and they will have a coupon out soon that you can use in conjunction with their Rollback that will give you even more savings!Once your dishes are cleaned and completely dry, take the e6000 and glue the candle stick to the plate. IF you don’t like the white with the clear, E6000 does have a clear formula. If I was paying attention, I would have grabbed the clear instead of the white, so I guess I will just go with it!
Next, take the E6000 glue and put a line of it on the top edge of the candlestick. Then, take the bowl, place it on top of the candlestick and apply gentle, yet firm pressure. Allow the glue to cure overnight.
Once you’re finished, the bottom can be used for chips or crackers and the top can be used for salsa, dips, whatever you choose! The E6000 glue will give your dishes a watertight bond so as long as you’re gluing everything together correctly, you will have an awesome, sturdy server that everyone will go ga-ga over! And if you need to clean it, be sure to carefully wash it in the bottom rack of your dishwasher with Finish Tablets or hand wash it!
