When my children get home from school, the first thing they do is BEG for a snack. I am not even kidding. It’s always (*insert whiny kid voice here*), “MOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM… I’m HUNGRRRRRYYYYYYY!!! Can I pppppppppppppleaseeeee have a SNACCCKKKKKKKKKK– pleasseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?” Yes, that’s how it goes around here every. single. day. So, I am trying to keep on top of my kids’ afternoon hunger with ready-to-go snacks at home that I can quickly make in mass quanitities easly and have them ready for them to consume as soon as they walk in the door. So, why not something, with a little bit of fruit, a little bit of peanut butter and some yummy chocolate too? Sounds like a plan to me! I found these new products from REESE’S at Walmart and I just had to try it! They are yummy peanut butter chocolate spreads that go great as a snack with all kinds of things– bread, fruit, etc.
1. Slice your bananas about a half inch thick. Spread the REESE’S Spreads on the banana with a knife or spatula. You can “sandwich” the spread using another banana or just keep it single– up to you.
2. Use a toothpick or skewer and gently insert it into the middle of the banana(s). Be sure to do this before freezing! I used cut paper straws as skewers to give it a little artsy flavor. 🙂
3. Melt a few cubes of chocolate almond bark in the microwave, according to the product’s package.
4. After You have frozen the bananas on a tray for at least 2 hours, dip in the melted almond bark and coat the frozen bananas in the almond bark. Set back on a tray and refreeze. Take out and eat as needed!
My kiddos just got home from school and they are now scarfing one down. They love their frozen sweet (and peanut butter-y) treat! Also, be sure to enter our giveaway below for a $50 Walmart Gift Card Giveaway and other awesome REESE’S Swag!
