Raise your virtual hands if it is hard for you to get your kiddos to eat their veggies. I know you can’t see me but my hands are raised high to the ceiling! I know it’s not always fun to make sure your kids get the recommended veggies they need, but I always know if I put a little fun into their eating, they will eat more!
I made these fun “veggie island” snack encouragement plates for my girls and they absolutely loved them! I found that if you make things you want your kids to eat into shapes and beings, they will definitely be more interested in eating because it’s more of a game than a chore!
You can find these yummy dips at Walmart, of course!
I crushed a sleeve of crackers into a sand-like consistency and spread that out. Then put the veggie creations and Kraft dip on top to make a beach scene. The veggie people were made using wooden toothpicks to keep the veggies stuck together. The little umbrella pick is the girls’ favorite touch to their veggie island. Such a perfect craft-y type thing to do for the summer!
You can also throw some veggies and toothpicks into little cups, set it on the table and let them create their own veggie people. Then set out little cups of Kraft dips for them to dip their veggie people and eat them after they are done. Fun stuff!
And just for you all, I created this fun Fruit & Veggie Bingo printable! A quick and fun little game you can do with your kids to help encourage them that veggies and fruits are fun and a great part of eating. Download, print, laminate them and have a great time!
