This holiday season, I am hosting 3 parties here at my new house… Woah! I am excited, but that means that over 100 people will be visiting the house between now and the beginning of the year. That means lots of cleaning, especially in the kitchen and the bathroom!
Bathroom Cleaning & Convenience Tips
With my busy life, I like to make things as easy and convenient as possible. Right now, my focus is the bathroom, since it is the room that will probably make the biggest impression with my guests. Here are some tips that have helped me keep my two bathrooms clean with little to no effort, and I hope these help you too!
1. Keep a basket of Toilet Paper handy for guests. Nothing stinks more than being a guest in someone’s home and running out of toilet paper or being unable to find their stash of TP. I bought this cute thin metal basket on clearance a few months back and it fits perfectly on the back of my toilet. Now anyone who uses the toilet has a roll handy at all times!
My favorite toilet paper is Scott Extra Soft, and I get it at Dollar General. Not only is buying my TP there convenient because it’s literally right up the street from my house, but it’s CHEAP! And, if you sign up for their Digital coupons, you will save!
I got this pack of Scott tissue and a pack of Scott paper towels (I’ll tell you about that product in a second) for under $10 with coupons from Dollar General for $1 (paper towels) and $0.50 off (toilet paper) off. Woohoo!
All you need to do to become a member of DG Digital Coupons, click the pic above or go to Dollar General’s website here and sign up. Once your membership is confirmed and your phone number is linked to your account, add what coupons you want to redeem online or on the mobile app. When you’re in the store, redeem the coupons by giving your phone number to the cashier or enter it into the credit card machine at the register. As long as you purchase the correct items and you’ve chosen the digital coupons online, your discount for the products you want should be added automatically. Easy! No printing or cutting out coupons required. I love it!
2. Keep cleaning supplies handy by having everything you need already in the bathroom.
Our new house has a TON of storage. It’s easy for me to keep everything I need to clean my bathrooms in a cabinet near the toilet. I always have disinfecting wipes, a surface cleaner, room spray, window cleaner and a roll of Scott paper towels. If you don’t like them freely sitting in a cabinet like so, a great solution is to purchase a handled plastic basket to place all cleaning items to keep them together for convenience.
3. Do an initial deep clean of the bathroom, then a daily wipe down.
This tip may seem excessive, but trust me, it is not! Once you do an initial deep clean, doing a daily wipe down of all smooth surfaces (toilet(s), sink(s), mirror(s), tub(s) and/or shower(s) won’t take long at all, like 5 or 10 minutes at most! Remember, as long as you keep it a part of your daily cleaning routine, it will not be a big task. It will be much more manageable if you do it every. single. day.
4. Keep a laundry basket in each bathroom, and make sure all dirty clothes make it in there! There’s nothing that bugs me more than dirty clothes thrown all over the floor! It throws off everything if I see crumpled up laundry sitting in the corner of a room. There’s no need for it! Buy an inexpensive laundry basket and keep it in all bathrooms. This makes cleanup a breeze, because you can easily transport dirty laundry to the laundry room for cleaning. Empty baskets every day to keep them from overflowing. If you make this a habit, it will become less and less intimidating– trust me!
I hope these tips help make your busy life simpler, and I hope Dollar General’s coupon savings will make things easier too! Don’t forget to sign up for Dollar General Digital coupons. There is major savings there that you don’t want to miss at a store that knows all about convenience!
