It’s official, friends– our house is now officially on the market! After about a month straight of purging, staging, painting and more, I can finally feel comfortable with people coming to see the house! Now, don’t get me wrong,,, I still have work to do. Our second bathroom still has the primer on the walls, our second living area/garage conversion needs to be touched up and staged and our back patio could use a refreshment. But, other than that, I think we are good to go! Would you like to see some pics?
selling a house
If you’re like me, you will admit that you kitchen is the highest traffic area in the whole house. We cook, we bake, we eat, we do homework, we play games, we do projects- all right in the kitchen. If you’re still like me, you keep your kitchen somewhat clean, but you never really deep clean it like you should And, if you’re still really, REALLY like me, you’ll let the dishes go sometimes. Like this:
Once or twice a week, this is what my kitchen looks like. Say hello to my hot mess! With a goal of us getting our house on the market to sell, this is something we cannot be doing! What if someone calls and wants to see our house? They certainly wouldn’t appreciate seeing our entire collection of dishes all sprawled out along the counters. I know I wouldn’t! And, let’s not forget the dirty, paint-chipping cabinets. Yea– it’s time to paint those puppies.
Well folks, after almost 10 years, 3 kids, and lots and lots of memories, it looks like we are going to be selling our first home in hopes of buying something more suitable for our family of 5! This house has served us well, but it is time to move on because it has definitely shrunk over the past 10 years and by golly, we keep on growing! This home is only 949 square feet and originally had 3 bedrooms and one bath. About 6 years ago, we converted the garage and added an extra bathroom and living space (AKA storage dungeon– which is a sore spot for me.. I am sure I will tell you why later), but the house is still too small and dinky for us!
