School is almost out for the summer, and that means my oldest daughter will be home. Yay! I am so excited to have her around all day because I miss her so much, but that means that I have to start planning meals for her to eat here at home along with her little sister. We, of course do a lot of Tyson Chicken Nuggets for quick easy meals, so that was a no brainer to put on our meal plan! The girls love their dipping sauces, so I wanted to come up with some fun recipes that the girls and I would all love. Since school will be out next week, I went over to Sam’s Club to stock up on some summer food items, including Tyson’s Panko Chicken Nuggets.
I was so excited to find Tyson’s Panko Chicken Nuggets since they are a rarity in most stores, and it gave me such inspiration for my dipping sauces!
My girls use ketchup and ranch the most to dip their nuggets in, so I wanted to do a twist based on those two basic sauces. Since these particular Tyson nuggets are made with Panko bread crumbs, you can’t go without some Asian flair, so I made a delicious and sweet soy dipping sauce to go with the other two sauces. I guess you could call it more of an adult dip, but the girls liked it too, so we will keep it!
Since the kiddos love ranch dressing and use it the majority of the time for their nugget dipping, I wanted to come up with something a little healthier without sacrificing the flavor. So, the first dip I made was Avocado Ranch Dip. So easy!
1 large avocado
2-3 Tablespoons Plain Yogurt (Greek works great for this!)
2 Tablespoons Ranch seasoning
Mash avocado in a small bowl. Add yogurt and Ranch seasoning and cream all together with a fork or spoon.
The second dip I made was inspired by ketchup– a definite kitchen staple. I wanted something a little more creamy and cool, so I made this Creamy Ketchup Dip– and can I say YUM!?!?!
1/2 cup Mayo
1/4 cup Ketchup
2 teaspoons white vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
Instructions: Combine all ingredients together, incorporating completely. This is also great with French fries, taters tots, etc!
This last dipping sauce is my FAVORITE! It really compliments the Panko, and that’s why I made it. It’s a little salty, a little sweet and has an awesome kick of garlic. I like to think of it as a flavor explosion. Ha!
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup vinegar
3 garlic cloves, minced (I just used a garlic press)
Instructions: Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and whisk until sugar is completely dissolved. I minced the fresh garlic right into the bowl with all the other ingredients.
So, there you have it. We all really enjoyed these dips! I made about 30 nuggets for the 4 of us and they were inhaled, along with the dips, in about 5 minutes. These dips and Tyson Panko Chicken nuggets would also be great for a party or gathering since they are hand held, not messy, and bite-sized!
Now enjoy a few photos of my adorable girls trying the nuggets with the dipping sauces. Cuteness overload! 🙂
