This little cutie turns 5 months old today. Man! Where has the time gone? I swear, yesterday he was just a little teeny thing that just came home from the hospital. Now he’s cooing, rolling over, sitting up, and getting his first tooth. Wowza! Now, it’s about time for him to try his first solids, and I want it to be a healthy, great experience for him and an easy, frugal experience for me! That’s where the Cuisinart Baby Food maker comes in to save the day! There are so many good reasons to make your own baby food, and let me tell you my top five. You’ll even get a chance to win a Cuisinart Baby Food Maker too, so keep scrolling!

5 Reasons to Make your Own Baby Food (with the Cuisinart Baby Food Maker of course!):

1. It’s Healthier- When you make your own baby food, you know exactly what’s going into your baby’s mouth. No wondering how the store bought brands were made, and if you have a garden, you can go from ground to baby’s mouth using the Cuisinart Baby Food Maker!  Also, the Cuisinart Baby Food Maker steams and chops your baby’s food in one container. There are no lost nutrients because there’s no straining of the water that has all of the nutrients that come out of the food!

2. It’s Frugal- I made my son a batch of asparagus and peaches in the Cuisinart Baby food maker (pictured above) and it cost me less than a buck for 5-6 servings! We all know that’s way cheaper than buying store-bought. AND if you have a garden, the cost will be even lower!

3. More Choices- There are so many different combos and recipes you can make for your baby, especially when using the Cuisinart Baby Food Maker. The store bought brands are few in the kinds they sell, and that can limit your baby’s palette to all the wonderful flavors your baby could be experiencing if you were to make your own.

4. It’s empowering- Knowing that I have made something for my baby with my own two hands is empowering. As the years pass by, I realize more and more how I WANT to make things from scratch for my family and making baby food for my son is no different. It just feels good to know I CAN make these things for my family and that they appreciate it.

5, It really is not hard- The “old fashioned” way of making baby food has never been difficult, only just a little tedious. I love the fact that Cuisinart has cut time and dishes out of my baby food making routine! All the food is steamed and chopped in ONE container, which saves me from having to do even more dishes! And the Cuisinart Baby Food Maker I compact– so it won’t take up that much counter space and is easily transported. Woohoo!
