DIY Christmas Card Gift Tags Using BIC® Mark-It Markers!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of BIC®. All opinions are 100% mine.

Each and every year at the beginning of the Holiday Season, we receive lots of beautiful Christmas cards from friends and family and proud-fully display them around our home! At the end of the season, we used to just take the cards and throw them in the recycling (sorry friends and family– sad, but true!) and wait for more beautiful cards to come the next year.

Thankfully, a few years ago, I stopped chucking them into recycling and started putting them to good use and re-purposing them! I have loved doing this so much, that I collect cards from people at my church and in turn, have invited them for a fun craft night where they can embellish and create beautiful gift tags to attach to their Christmas gifts each and every year. So fun!

This year, I added a little twist to my gift tag making and used these fabulous BIC Mark-It™permanent markers! They are great for adding some extra pizzazz to the gift tags! This month is BIC Mark-It™ month of Merry Marking and you can download some great inspiration to use these markers to make the holidays bright (get the booklet of merry marking and a coupon to start marking)!

To make my Christmas card gift tags, I purchased this gift tag maker at one of our local craft stores. It’s big, and it’s amazing, and I highly recommend you buy one!

Take the Christmas card, cut the back off from the front, line it up how you want it in the window of the punch (you have to flip it over to see it), then push the punch and that piece should just come right out!

This is what the front of your Christmas card will look like after it’s been punched out.

Take a hole punch and punch a hole at the top of the tag (if you want) to slip in some ribbon!

I used the Yellow Gold metallic BIC Mark-It™ marker to add some To and From text, added some snowflakes and fun little embellishments to each tag. If you want ribbon for your gift tags, find some thin ribbon and cut about 4″ strips to thread through. I think they are absolutely adorable, personable, easy and super fun to make! The BIC Mark-It™ markers really gift the tags that extra graphic punch that it needs without doing anything too fancy. 🙂

All BIC Mark-It™ Markers are beautiful with amazing colors! They are low order, which I love and they are acid-free, which means they are good for the family! If you’re interested in making these for your Christmas gifts, be sure to get the booklet of merry marking and a coupon to start marking!

You get a coupon for $1 off your BIC Mark-It™ purchase at the link above, so be sure to print it before you head out to get the things you need to make this fun and easy Christmas craft idea!

Oh, and I nominate Rachel from, Kristy from and Sarah from to participate in BIC’s Month of Merry Marking like I did. So hop to it, girls, and create some awesomely easy ideas, thanks to BIC!
