Honey Hunt Cookies & The Berenstain Bears Cookbook Review

I was given this cookbook to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own!

My girls are both at the age where they like to help with things in the kitchen. With some of my recipes, it’s hard to allow them to help me because I am so focused on the task at hand and wanting to get it done so quickly, so I don’t really let them help. As a mother, I definitely want them to get skills in the kitchen, because I know that’s so important! Since there’s such an age gap between the two girls, I want to be able to give them recipes that they can both do together, not only to bond with me, but with each other!

country cookbook berenstain bearsInsert this Berenstain Bears Country Cookbook, and this is what you need to do such a thing! This book has all types of recipes for all tastes, and the best thing is that they are simple enough that the whole family can do them. For our first recipe, we decided to make these Honey Hunt Cookies, that also happen to be a Cub Favorite. The girls had a blast helping me add ingredients and mix it.. and I was excited to try cookies made from honey. I honestly can say I’ve never tried a honey cookie. They are delicious!

This recipe only calls for a handful of ingredients, plus you can mix it all up in the same bowl– so you’re not making a huge mess in the kitchen! I had the girls take turns adding ingredients and then they helped me scoop dough onto the cookie sheet. I got a new cookie dough scoop, and the girls loved using it. And to be honest, so did I! The scoop helps to make the perfect, uniformly-sized cookies.

I have a friend whose brother is a bee keeper and who sells his honey locally– oh man, this recipe is perfect for his delicious product! I’d say my kiddos agree!

If you want to try out this book, which I highly recommend (who doesn’t love the Berenstain Bears??), you can pick it up at Family Christian in April– but you can go online and prebuy it now. I am excited to try other recipes in the book. There’s a scone recipe that looks amazing.. I am sure the girls will love it too!
