Tips for Keeping Up the Laundry

Sponsored post: This post is sponsored by all free clear, but the love of the product is all my own!

Oh man! There have been a lot of posts on the blog lately about house duties, chores and whatnots. To be honest, that’s been my focus at home, so naturally, that’s what I am going to be sharing more of at home. Laundry has always been a battle and it has got worse over time the more warm bodies join our household. The amount of people and use of clothing and linens in this house has forced us to try to keep up with laundry! If we don’t, then we would go naked and bonkers. And we just can’t have that!

So, in order to keep life a little more simpler in the laundry aspect of life, here are some tips to help keep up with the laundry!

Tip #1: Wash at least 1 load of laundry every day.

This rule is #1 for a reason. In order to keep dirty laundry at a minimum, get in the habit of doing at least 1 load of laundry every. single. day. It’s just like what I talked about in my post about keeping the kitchen tidy. You have to make it a habit to do these particular chores every day. Otherwise, you’re in a heap (pun intended) of trouble!

Tip #2: Sort your laundry beforehand

It’s been very helpful to me to have a laundry basket in each room that deals with laundry. It makes it super easy for it to be sorted and thrown into the washing machine. Plus, you can fold up the clean clothes and put them back into the basket that they came in and then can be put directly back into the room in which the laundry belongs. We also have separate baskets in the laundry room to sort things like bedding and towels. Keeping everything sorted makes things go a lot smoother.

Tip #3: Find ways to cut down time during laundry washing.

I really enjoy purchasing these all free clear detergent pacs because it cuts down on the time I would normally use to measure out detergent and pour it into the washing machine.

These pre-measured packs can be tossed right into the machine and that’s all you have to do to get your clothes clean! Plus, if you or anyone in your family has any detergent allergies, you won’t have to worry with the Free & Clear since it’s 100% hypoallergenic! My daughter is pretty sensitive to that stuff so I want to make sure she has clean clothes that won’t irritate her skin. The poor girl already has to deal with enough sensitivities in her little 8 year old life!

Tip #4: Recruit help!

My husband and I tag team the laundry. He gathers, washes and dries, and I fold and put away. It really helps lessen my workload! I am definitely thankful for a hubby who helps with the laundry. I hope he never stops.

Tip #5: Keep a daily laundry schedule.

You now are doing laundry every day– Make a schedule of what clothes get washed on what day. Is it Friday? Great. Time to wash the bed linens! Monday? Time to do a load of towels! Of course, give yourself a day of rest in that week. You deserve it.
