Holiday Gifts of Lasting Change

The holidays are such a fun time of year for me. Decorating, making candies, watching the kids in their Christmas performances, etc…. all of it makes such a magical time of year! The season is also a great time to focus on giving to others, especially those who are in need. Each year we give to children overseas through our church and it’s such a wonderful experience.

This year, I’ve discovered another wonderful organization to give to that helps people overseas- Care.org. It’s a website where you can donate money towards a gift to help those in need in over 200 ways!

The above is just one example of what your gift can do for those in need. Donate money towards a garden! Not only will it give their community food, but it may just give them a chance to make an income.

Or how about giving the equivalent of a meal out with family towards a backpack and school kit? Your donation can really go a long way to help others. I love that!

And look, you can even give a small amount to feed someone for an entire month during an emergency. That is amazing.

If you check out the Care.org website, there are lots of ways that you can give to donate to those in need. It can be for basic needs, during a disaster, for education, the empowerment of woman and more.  You can also send a note of encouragement to those who receive your cause donations. I encourage all of us to let this be the Holiday of Lasting Change through our gift giving this year. If we all contributed, just imagine all the good that can be done all around the world.

It sure feels good to give, doesn’t it? If you’re looking for a place to do just that, let me suggest this cause. Go to Care.org and see how you can contribute!

How do you plan to give this year? I’d love to hear your ideas!
