Savory & Sweet Popcorn Cones – A fun snack for families!

My kids are always on the hunt for snacks. As you can see on my blog lately, I have a lot of snack ideas for kids. They especially love to have a snack when we are doing family activities, like watching a movie, playing a game or going to the zoo. Sometimes I get stuck in a rut and provide the same boring snack, but there are other times that I like to go all out and let them have a fun snack that’s easy to make!

These savory & sweet popcorn cones are one of those times where their snacking is made more fun! A good friend of mine actually gave me this idea– she said her grandmother would give her a popcorn mixes in an edible ice cream cone and she absolutely loved and cherished those times her grandma did that. I thought that was so sweet and such a genius idea, that I had to do it myself. She totally didn’t mind that I duplicated and added my own twist, so thank you for that Jess… you rock! read more

Friday night the fam and I adventured to Pizza Hut for an evening of food, fun and bonding! My kids are getting to the age where we can all sit down in a restaurant and enjoy each other’s company.. so when I told them we were venturing out to Pizza Hut to help support literacy, they were pumped!

As homeschoolers, we’ve been doing the Book It! program this year with Pizza Hut, which is a great incentive for early readers. I love this added element of literacy support that they’re doing with Fruit Shoot, so we wanted to make sure we supported it as well! read more

This year is such a precious year for me because after over 4 years, I have my oldest back under my roof, full time, along with my younger two kiddos. After a lot of tears and stress, after a lot of anxiety and upset stomachs from the pressures of public school, my daughter is now at home, able to learn at her pace and her level. I do not take this time for granted, and I am SO EXCITED to help her learn and see her grow into a beautiful young woman. read more

DIY Bathroom Art

It’s been a year since we moved into our forever home and I am just now getting around to putting up artwork in the kids’ bathroom. I knew I wanted something that would match the cute shower curtain and knew, just knew that I could create something all on my own that would tie the bathroom decor all together!

I had some wrapped canvases already at home, as well as some acrylic paint, so I did my best to match the pattern of the shower curtain!

I of course, used these Hefty Ultra Strong trash bags to keep my table free of any paint spills and/or spatter as I paint. You never can be too careful! read more

Goldfish® Crackers Trail Mix

Goldfish® crackers have played an active role in all of my kids’ lives ever since they became toddlers. Every Wednesday night and Sunday morning, they would sit around a small, round table at church with a handful of their little friends, enjoying  Goldfish crackers. Goldfish crackers were always a part of their church nursery routine, and those experiences rooted feelings of nostalgia when they consume them even today.

Even now, when we pass the Goldfish crackers in the cracker aisle at Walmart, the kids scream at the top of their lungs, “Goldfish crackers, Mama! Goldfish crackers! Can we get some? Can we?” read more
